Red Light Routine
Your first treatment should be 5 minutes to check for any sensitivity.
After that you can increase to full time.
Sessions should be 3x a week, no more frequent than every other day (going more won't give any extra benefits and may build up your resistance to red light) for the first 1-3 months.
After that treatments should be one time weekly to maintain!
Red light is a very weak light and doesn't penetrate without a boost, make sure to ask us what products to use in your routine to help absorb and keep the light working between sessions!!
The POLY - The Science of Light
Since POLY's beginning as UVBioTek, selling narrowband UV-B devices for psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo, they have maintained a deep passion for providing people with safe, natural, reliable options for taking control of their health and appearance. In 2016 they began their “Science of Light” project which was designed to leverage the inherent healing properties in light and find new and exciting ways to deliver new treatment options to the aesthetic and wellness marketplaces. This project has evolved to become the POLY project, which is now culminating in 2017 with the launch of our POLY system – and eventually their entire POLY product line. They are continuing their efforts to develop new systems to treat and manage a wide variety of conditions and hope you’ll be there with us on this exciting journey. In the meantime, please read on see exactly how the science of light is currently working to change people’s lives.
Red light at 633 nanometers has a long enough wavelength to penetrate the epidermis (outermost layer of the skin) and reach the dermis (the middle layer of the skin). This enables it to reach fibroblasts, special types of cells that sit beneath the skin and manufacture collagen – a protein that helps tighten and firm the skin and heal wounds. Red light does this by acting on the mitochondria inside fibroblasts. Mitochondria are small organelles that exist inside most of the cells in your body. They produce the cell’s energy by absorbing oxygen and other materials, as well as by producing a molecule called ATP. Exposing the mitochondria to red light at 633nm causes a number of changes in mitochondria, particularly, it increases the mitochondrial membrane potential, allowing the mitochondria to receive signals faster. Red light also causes an increase in the production of ATP. Mitochondria produce ATP by a process called the “electron transport chain.” One enzyme involved in that process is ‘cytochrome c oxidase.’ Cytochrome c oxidase is also a “chromophore”; i.e, a molecule that responds to the presence of light. Since cytochrome c oxidase is a necessary part in making cellular energy, and since it is stimulated by the presence of red light at 633nm, it will respond by increasing the production of cellular energy. This increases the activity of the cells themselves, and therefore causes the fibroblasts in the skin to produce more collagen to firm, tighten, and improve the overall appearance of the treated area.

Secrets of the Tanning Pros!
Skipping every day allows you to boost up time a little bit faster than going every day!
Tanning lamps are designed to be exposed to every 48 hours.
Your body takes this long to absorb and process the light it gets during a sun session.
Going more frequent is considered over exposure we and we always advocate smart sun exposure!
Your body also will go into defend mode and will hit a tanning plateau quicker going more frequently.
Follow the Proven Science
Knowing your skin type allows us to prescribe a tanning exposure schedule that will work for your skin, not against it! Do you know we cannot tan if we are a skin type 1? We suggest self tanners and spray tans. Skin type 2s need to really start low and build up slow, they don't have a lot of natural melanin and need to build that up so their skin does what it is supposed to, prevents burn.
Skin type 3 is what the average tanner is, it isn't a free pass to start off a full time but generally we can start you just under half the time and your body will know what to do!!
Whatever your skin type, it is important to listen to your skin, and take your time. The better of a unit you go in the more efficiently your tan will build.
Skin Care Routine
You don't buy a new car just to drain it of its oil, put butter in the washer fluid reservoir, and put bald tires on it.
You need to rock the before, during, and after to not just make your tan amazing, but also to boost your skin's appearance. Tanning always gets a bad rap for aging you too fast, and without care, it will! Tanning sucks all your moisture from your skin during a session. So let us suggest our favorite products to give you that healthy beautiful glow to your skin!
Make sure to use a tanning tattoo sticker each visit so you can track your tanning progress. We build so gradually its hard to notice, having something to compare to will always help you see where you are at!
No sticker? Usually under the butt has a couple tan lines to compare to ;)
